As an artist I am a social commenter and self-portraitist. In terms of a self-portraiture I am always exploring myself in a deep and
meaningful way, looking for new insights as to who I am and how I feel; it is also a way of self-expression, a form of therapy and
meditation that deepens my meta-cognition as I work through the creative process and concept. Aesthetically I am exploring a breadth
of variations on the elements and principles of art and design so my work tends to have a breadth of aesthetic “styles” or choices. As a
social commenter I look intently and through many lens to gain insight to others and my own societies; as individuals, how they relate
with each other, and how they fit in the greater sense of a worldly community. Often I relate the concept to issues or conflicts that I see
in society in hopes of getting the viewer to think about their own personal stance on the issue, and hopefully start conversations and
actions that will inspire change. As an artist I am also very interested in history; the history of art, our world, and myself. I try to bring
in some historical reference with my work; whether it is a stylistic choice, or a specific event, or an ideology of a movement.

As an educator I am here for the students, sensitive to their individual needs as well as a sound art education. I believe in individualized
and comprehensive instruction. I want to teach life through art; help the students grow and develop into positive and productive
members of our society with an acute sense of the art world. I want to inspire students to be the absolute best they can be, develop a
hard work ethic, and have a creative and optimistic view on life. I want to create art projects that have students explore personal dilemmas
and social aspects through an in-depth and solid art education. I believe that students should receive high quality information
about all aspects of art including technique, creative expression, and reflection.
